The unwritten rules of collecting takeaway at an owambe

Never ask twice. Always know the caterer. Bring your own nylon at your own risk.

The unwritten rules of collecting takeaway at an owambe

Rule one: you do not ask for takeaway. You make friends with the person sharing food, and takeaway finds you.

Rule two: arrive early, but not too early. Too early and you're helping arrange chairs. Too late and the small chops have finished.

Rule three: the cooler you see in the corner is not for you. Respect the cooler.

Rule four: if the celebrant's mother gives you a pack, you collect it with two hands and a small bow. That pack is a blessing.

We built Òwàmbé so you can skip the politics. Same party food, same big portions, delivered to your door — no aunty approval required.
